Quick Introduction To Our In-House Honda Civic Si Build

In recent weeks we've been giving you quite a bit of information on the eleventh-generation Honda Civic Si, from its best performance specs and features to the top new mods you should be adding to the model. Of course, it's an iconic vehicle in its own right, with its current generation (produced from 2022 through the current model year) being the latest in a long line of truly legendary Civic Si builds.

But it's a lot more than that to us here at MAPerformance. The Civic Si platform in general holds a ton of significance to us as a brand and operation, because its 10th generation was where we cut our teeth while honing in the perfect craftsmanship for exhaust pipes, intakes, and many more performance parts. So today, we want to take you on a brief tour of what we've been working on for the current-gen Si so you can follow along with our process. We think you'll love what we've been doing!

Why Did We Build An Eleventh-Gen Honda Civic Si?

As mentioned above, we put a ton of research and development into building performance parts hands on with the 10th generation Civic Si, so building an 11th gen model from scratch seemed like the logical next step in our progression as a business.

If you're unaware, MAPerformance is one of the top performance brands in the business, and we don't just say that to get you to buy more stuff from us - we say it because it's true. The performance parts we've built have helped track cars set records for power output, lap times, off-the-line speed, and much more. A lot of that innovation starts with our hands-on builds that we do for all sorts of enthusiast cars, and the Civic Si is no different.

So, we wanted to build an 11th-generation Si because it truly is the best of both worlds. Its 200-horsepower turbo engine makes it an incredible daily driver, but the light weight and athleticism it brings to the table gives it a huge advantage on the track as well. So, we set out to do what we do best - make it even better.

Wheels and Tires We Used On Our Honda Civic Si

The focus of our piece today deals strictly with the chassis we modified on our Civic Si, starting first and foremost with the wheels and tires that we went with.

Our Civic Si build has a set of Konig Ultragram wheels as its main attraction, and these wheels come in an 18x9.5 +40mm size, plenty big enough to harness all that power that the Civic can crank out. The Ultragram is a natural choice for enthusiast cars like the Si - it's super lightweight, clocking in at under 19 pounds per wheel, but it also has all the tasteful styling you'd expect from a show build, with a classy straight spoke seven-spoke look that we love. Best yet, it's wrapped up in a fresh gray finish to help tie the whole thing together.

We wrapped up our Ultragram wheels in a set of Yokohama ADVAN Apex V601 tires, with a size of 255/35R18. These are some of the best street tires currently in production, so they were also an easy decision for us to make. As far as specs are concerned, though, this tire has a load rating of XL, temperature rating of A, and speed index of Y - all this combined gives us a lot of confidence in the tire's ability to hold up under whatever conditions we throw at it.

Our Choice Of Honda Civic Si Coilovers

Next up, we chose a set of Evolved Autosport coilovers to wrap up our suspension components on this Civic Si build. If you're unaware, Evolved is our in-house suspension brand, and we've worked tirelessly to engineer their coilovers with a focus on ride quality, endurance, and comfort, while also ensuring that you have all the performance capabilities you need to tear up whatever road you're trying to conquer.

It's not just ego trippin', though. Evolved Autosport's Civic Si coilovers have plenty of benefits too, including adjustable ride heights, 16-way damping adjustments, camber plates, and much more to give you maximum control over your build - that's a big reason we went with it for this Civic Si, and it's also why we recommend it to anyone wanting to build a Civic with these specs.
