Standard Return Policy - 30 Day

Products sold by Modern Automotive Performance are eligible for return within 30 days of the original invoice date under our Standard Return Policy. Returns require an RMA Number and the customer is responsible for freight charges. Opened, installed, or used products are non-returnable due to the nature of racing and performance vehicles. Incorrectly shipped items, transit-damaged items, or items requiring warranty repair/replacement are not eligible for returns unless reviewed and approved by customer service. Not adhering to the terms outlined here, along with those specified on the RMA form, could lead to delays in processing returns or the rejection of returned packages. We do not accept any returns for shipments sent outside of the US (lower 48). ALL RETURNS MUST BE APPROVED BY CUSTOMER SERVICE BEFORE SHIPPED. 

If this return was due to a mistake made on our end (i.e. shipping the wrong item), restocking fees and freight costs will be waived. If you purchased a product and it doesn’t fit or isn’t what you expected, you will be responsible for all restocking fees and freight charges related to the return.

Products purchased in a kit/combo are only eligible for return if the ENTIRE kit/combo is returned at the same time. Individual items inside a kit/combo cannot be returned separately.

Return Policy for Open-Box, Clearance, or Overstock Items

Modern Automotive Performance often sells items that are not eligible for return. Non-returnable items include Open-Box, Clearance, or Overstock merchandise, sold at discounted prices. These sales are final with no refund or return eligibility. Buyers take full responsibility for any and all risks that may be associated with Open-Box, Clearance, or Overstock items. While these items maintain functionality, they may have superficial physical defects including (but not limited to) scratches, dings, or dents. If any items prove defective in either quality or performance after the sale is complete, the buyer assumes responsibility for the cost of all necessary servicing or repairs and agrees to absolve both Modern Automotive Performance and the manufacturer from any and all responsibility, unless otherwise required by law. 

Return Policy for Special Order, Custom Built, or Made to Order Items

Modern Automotive Performance offers unique or custom order items, often made to order or considered special order. These items are handled on a case-by-case basis. Items subject to the Special Order Return Policy cannot be returned or exchanged. Special order items may require a minimum of a 50% non-refundable deposit. This deposit will not be refunded if the order is canceled (unless the items that were ordered are unattainable from the manufacturer). The buyer assumes responsibility that the items ordered will fit their needs..

  • Poorly Packaged Returns Resulting in Avoidable Damage (only applies if items are shipped back in unoriginal packaging)

Refused / Undeliverable Orders

Refused or undeliverable orders that are returned to our facility will be processed like a standard return. All restocking fees and shipping costs, including return freight charges and any return-to-sender fees assessed by the shipping carrier, will be deducted from the product refund. If you would like to return an item, the shipment should be accepted and then sent back following our standard return process. Refusing a package has the potential to accrue storage fees from the carrier or to be rejected by our warehouse as an unscheduled delivery which can cause delays in return shipping as well as incur additional shipping charges.

Cancellations

For all cancellations, reach out to us using our Contact Us Form and select the Order Support, then Order Cancellation topics. Our team will attempt to place a hold on your order and help with any necessary updates, modifications, or cancellations.

Our streamlined processes prioritize swift order fulfillment, meaning your order may already be in the pulling and packing stage. Please note that all cancellations typically incur a restocking fee of up to 20%. Depending on the vendor, stage of processing, and product being canceled, this cancellation may carry a higher restocking fee.

Restocking Fees

Due to vendor contracts as well as shipping & handling expenses, all returns are subject to a restocking fee, unless the mistake is ours. Restocking fees are typically 20% at the most however, depending on the vendor and item, some products can carry a higher fee.  

Most cancellations incur a restocking fee of up to 20%. Depending on the vendor, stage of processing, and product being canceled, this cancellation may carry a higher restocking fee.

Refunds

Once your shipment has been inspected and approved, the order will be refunded through the original payment method, less any applicable fees. Once the product is received, it will be inspected and restocked typically within 14 days. Once inspected, the refund will most likely appear on your statement within 1-5 business days, depending on your bank's processing practices. Please keep in mind that only returns which meet all RMA conditions and return policy requirements will be eligible for a refund and the customer is responsible for all shipping costs and restocking fees.

Refused or undeliverable orders may also be subject to return freight fees, duties, taxes, customs charges or brokerage fees. At the discretion of Modern Automotive Performance, items purchased from MAPerformance.com may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% of the item's purchase price. If you have any questions regarding the refund process, please contact one of our customer service representatives.

MAP will only allow you to maintain a credit balance on your account at your request. Any credit balances on your account with MAP will be remitted to you within seven (7) days of MAP’s receipt of your written request to remit such balance. If you fail to request the return of your credit balance within one (1) year of the creation of said credit balance, said balance shall terminate and MAP may retain any and all such balances.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards cannot be returned and may not be redeemed for cash. Modern Automotive Performance Gift Cards are issued and managed by Modern Automotive Performance and can only be applied to purchases from MAPerformance.com. Modern Automotive Performance is not responsible for gift cards that are lost, stolen, or used without permission. Additional payment will be required if the purchase price of a new order/product exceeds the value of the Gift Card. Gift Cards are not for resale. Void where prohibited or restricted by law. Gift Card terms and conditions are subject to change without notice. Use of a Gift Card is governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin.

Product Warranties

All products manufactured by Modern Automotive Performance come with our standard MAP warranty. The majority of other products available through our website are covered separately under a manufacturer's warranty. If you recently purchased a product from MAPerformance and are concerned about the fitment or performance of your item, please contact a member of our customer service department for assistance. Our customer service representatives will review your submission to help determine if it is a warranty issue. If it is, our team will help you communicate with the manufacturer to help arrange a warranty inspection. You may also contact the manufacturer directly for the terms and conditions of warranty coverage.
