I got the resonated mid pipe with the angle cut tips. I’ve had this for about a year now. The tone is smooth and is loud enough before the break-in period. After a couple months it gets a bit louder and has a deep bass tone to it. It’s still not as loud as other exhausts nor does it sound like a rattle can. The highway sound does drone a bit, but you can still hold a normal conversation with the radio on. It opens up above 3000 rpms and gets quiet in 5th gear. You also get pops from time to time and some crackles in the lower gears.
It’s a pleasant surprise when you hear it. My garage is about 50 ft from my house and you can barely hear it after a cold start.
Some cons are that the bolts are still regular metal, so I’d recommend getting stainless steel bolts and washers if you live with snow and drive year round. Also, it may just be me but the driver side comes off the hanger sometimes. I resolved this by fitting a rubber stopper on the car’s stud to prevent the hanger from moving.
Overall it’s a great exhaust, it’s loud enough for people to notice yet won’t blow their ears off when you drive by. If I were to use a word to sum it up, I’d call it mature.
I haven’t installed the catback yet because its still winter. It was delayed twice but no complaints. With everything thats happening i knew it was going to happen. I took it out the box and looking at it the quality and welds are very very good. Box came in with some small dents but the catback was in perfect condition. My friend has this exhaust on his evo x and it sounds so nice. Deep and aggressive! Anyone looking for an exhaust thats close to an ets quiet this is a good option. I cant wait to install it when its warmer outside.
If your looking for a great sounding exhaust for your evo, this is a great option! Very aggressive tone, especially around 3-4k and it pops all the time! The only reason I gave this exhaust a 4 instead of a 5 is the fitment is not exactly perfect.
the sound is wonderful exactly what i was looking for but the fitment wasnt to good. one side was lower than the other.
Great exhaust! It sounds amazing and it was an easy install. Only complaint I have is that it took longer than expected to get to my place.
