Not that I really sniffed them much but have a slight rubber smell. Best part is if you drop them, they pretty much bounce right back up to your hand so I suspect Superball compound. Ask an old person what Superball is and they’ll either tell you a story about a hard pink bouncy object they used to play with as a child or if really old, will move their mouth like checking their mood & appetite and say, “I’ll have the soup, I’m too old to play games.”
This pair of hoses is hard to find, both on the internet and once installed. I had them put on when R2 a stock Type R radiator with a dual core Kyrorad one. Nice as this set is, and coming withshiny stainless clamps, understand you will never see these again. They’re under a panel plate and at the bottom where you can’t possibly notice them unless tearing ito your engine bay. Not saying they’re a waste, not the case, top quality, fast delivery, the usual from MAP. Just that had I realized you can’t tell they exist at maybe a car show, they do nothing OEM can’t except last longer than the car will, not a need, a want. Think about, maybe upgrading the cooling reservoir pressure cap, add a brake reservoir sock, something that you can see vs talk about. If you’re a tune-aholic and changed all other hoses to red then certainly worthwhile. Also understand the good peeps at MAP are quite active with their proud save x percent emails and text advertisements that of course you can opt out of if you just tolerated it for order notifications. Just as good quality as Mishimoto without the super(ball) high price. 💰
