2002-2023 Subaru WRX, 2015-2021 Subaru WRX STI, and 2005-2009 Subaru Legacy GT Manual Transmission Mount by Perrin Performance
Stiffer transmission mounts give you a more connected feel with your car. The PERRIN transmission mount kit will reduce most drivetrain movement, which efficiently transmits more power to the ground. This means more accurate launches during drag racing and autocross type events where you do not want drivetrain slop.
The PERRIN Transmission Mount uses custom made large diameter 70a Durometer polyurethane bushings which are pressed into CNC aluminum mounts, held in place with large bolts and a thick steel base plate. The larger bushings allow the extreme vibrations and sounds to be absorbed, while keeping the transmission from severely moving around under extreme loads. Another feature the PERRIN Transmission mounts have is a proper interlock built into it. The stock part is held together with bonded rubber and a couple of small tabs, which means it is possible that the OEM part could fail and leave your transmission disconnect from your chassis.
The soft OEM transmission mount allows the transmission to be thrown around from road imperfections. The PERRIN Transmission mount is designed to virtually eliminate this movement while still keeping NVH (noise, vibration, harshness) to a minimum. Because our mounts are more stiff than stock transmission mounts, there will be some added NVH. The noises can be described as more gear whine coming through the chassis. For most people this is pleasing, feeling a solid connection between the engine and chassis, versus having that sloppy disconnected feel.

Combine this with the positive shift kit bushings and the rear diff inserts for a smoother and direct feeling shifter. Under acceleration there is a noticeable difference in how the car feels, definitely more planted and tight. It doesn’t really accelerate any quicker but you feel more of the torque and it feels sharper if that makes sense. If you are smooth with the clutch you are rewarded with a smooth engagement and none of the jerky motion even when shifting under hard acceleration. If you dump the clutch between shifts it still jerks a bit but nowhere near as bad as it was before. Also never dump the clutch ;) There is more nvh when taking off from a stop or accelerating but you get used to it after a week or so. My passengers haven’t complained so it isn’t that bad. Overall worth every penny.
The car feels much better after installing the transmission mount. There is much less shifter movement as well as a more solid feel during acceleration. I highly recommended installing this mount at the same time as the front and rear shifter bushings. This will save you time on installation overall.
