Garrett PowerMax Direct-Fit Performance Intercooler for 2015-2021 Subaru WRX 2.0L
Garrett direct fit performance intercoolers are engineered for enthusiasts that want increased vehicle performance while maintaining OEM direct fit installation. Advanced CFD combined with bar and plate core technology results in lower intake temperatures that increase heat saturation point and horsepower.
The direct fit Subaru WRX performance charge air cooler boasts a 70% larger core that helps reduce intake manifold temperatures up to 30 °F (16.7 °C). Optimized end tanks improve air flow through the core. This performance intercooler showed an increase of up to 16 HP (12 kW) and 15 lb-ft (20 N-m) of torque compared to OE during back to back dyno comparisons in a wind tunnel which generates air velocity that matches vehicle speed. During testing the heat saturation point increased from 4 dyno pulls to 6 dyno pulls.

If you like busting your knuckles and screaming at the sky this will fulfill that need. This intercooler is so beefy it has to tuck up under the back of the firewall/wipers. Unfortunately mine didn't want to line up with my bolt holes for the support arms without some strong words and bracket bending. It's such a tight fit that I couldn't use the aftermarket coupler on the driver's side. I do have Crawford AOS and blox racing charge pipe (I do not recommend their charge pipe). Overall I noticed more constant boost levels and repeatable power compared to my stock charge pipe and intercooler. You will barely notice a difference in power other than the staying power while on boost. Boost feels less peaky and more consistent.
Way bigger and better than OEM !!! 😁
Beefy intercooler, easy install, and have never had a problem with heat soak since it's install.
Great part, but a pain with the stock charge pipe. It’s possible to use it, but I ended I’m getting a Perrin anyway for a better fit.
Intake temps and manifold temps drop real quick to almost ambient once you hit boost, much better improvement over stock. Only caveat is that this thing is so beefy you need to really push this thing into the charge pipe. I cut the rubber coupler where it bumps outward, and it's basically replaced with a bump on it's own, then make sure to tighten the c clamp pretty good and it'll be fine, if not the ring is too big to physically push into.
