Steel Harmonic Balancer / Damper
You can't feel them or hear them, but harmonic vibrations are at work inside EVERY internal combustion engine. That's not good. Similar to glass-shattering forces created by a high pitched note, harmonic vibrations cause metal fatigue and can cause significant power loss because crankshaft harmonics are transmitted to the camshaft and valvetrain. Control this power-robbing force with a Fluidampr harmonic damper that uses race proven vibration damping technology. A high viscosity silicone fluid surrounds a nylon-coated inertia ring inside a laser welded housing. All dampers are coated with a black zinc chromate finish for increased corrosion resistance. Timing marks - every two degrees from 50° BTDC to 10° ATDC with additional marks at 90, 180 and 270. Meets SFI 18.1 specs.

This is a must have upgrade for any ej engine. Don’t waste you’re money on a lightweight pulley that can potentially harm your engine. Fluidampr pulleys are engineered to improve the life of your engine. Worth every penny!
I originally installed a lightweight crank pulley and was not satisfied with the drivability. The fluidampr pulley is 10x better and I love it! The only annoying part is modifying the timing cover. I already had the alternator removed, so it was as simple as taking the bunch of bolts off and a little dremeling to make the pulley sit flush. If you’re looking for simple bolt-on, this is a bit more intensive than alternative options—but personally totally worth it!
Great investment for built engines
If you are building a performance engine like my 470 HP EJ257 DAVCS road race engine then you need the Fluidamper harmonic balancer. It will stop harmonics that could destroy your crankshaft or damage the bearings. Using a light flywheel will more than offset the minimal weight gain over a stock damper. You don't want to use an aluminum pulley!
