2-Piece Carbon Fiber Rear Driveshaft

This shaft uses a carbon fiber front and rear section with a specially designed hanger bearing and bracket that eliminates the violent hanger lag that occurs when power is put through the factory shaft. Our driveshaft uses 1 hanger bearing, instead of the 2 on the factory shaft, and features greasable/replaceable u-joints instead of the non-serviceable type on the factory shaft. We also include all necessary hardware to make this a bolt-on affair. The weight difference between aluminum and carbon fiber is only a few pounds, but the carbon fiber tube is significantly more torsional than aluminum so it will twist more under load resulting in a smoother power transfer. This will make a significant difference in how the car accelerates and feels.

I wish I could give 10 stars! Our customer service rep was awesome! He told us it looked like they had the item in warehouse but wasn’t quite sure, so he told us to expect it to take a few weeks because the item is typically made to order. He sent me two tshirts one for my self and my wife, which was unexpected and awesome! We ordered on Thursday. Got the shirts on Friday and Monday morning the driveshaft in-fact showed up!!! We were so surprised! Super impressed and we are extremely happy with this purchase and look forward to do doing more business in the future! Keep up the great work folks!

Well made product, well worth the price

After months of deciding which driveshaft would be best for my needs, I decided on the Driveshaft Shop carbon fiber driveshaft for my Evo IX. This shaft was perfect for my daily driver/weekend warrior. It make the car feel very smooth in decel, and in all rpms. This was a fairly easy install, I completed it on jack stands.

Couple of tips for the install:

1. Check the provided bracket fitment prior to attempting to install. I had to open up the mounting holes slightly, not a big deal.
2. Check the clearance from the bracket to your exhaust mid pipe. My cat back will need to be adjusted some as it is resting on the bracket. Be sure to leave some clearance.
3. Check the driveshaft angle with the provided bracket, make adjustments if needed. The oem driveshaft mounts have a spacer built in. With the provided bracket there is no spacer and the oem spacer will not work with the provided bracket. I attempted install with using the Torque Solutions driveshaft bushings, however it brought the driveshaft too low. I ended up not using any spacers with the provided bracket and offered the best clearanace and angle for my setup.
4. The rear differential mounting is different than the OEM setup. The driveshaft shop mount lines up in 180 degree increments compared to the OEM 90 degree increments. So if you have your wheels on the the ground like I did when installing, you will need to line up the driveshaft mounting in the rear before inserting the slip yoke in the transfer case. Not a big deal but worth mentioning for those diy guys like me :)
