Evolution X Intercooler Hard Pipe Kit by COBB Tuning
The COBB EVO X Hard-Pipe Kit consists of single piece pipes made from mandrel bent aluminum tubing on both the cold side and hot side of the intercooler. The results are weld-free pipes from the turbo outlet to intercooler inlet and from the intercooler outlet to the throttle body, without unsightly mid-pipe silicone hose couplings that can disrupt flow or potentially blow off under boost.
The hot and cold pipe diameters are increased from the stock 2.375" to 2.5", enhancing flow even further. The By-Pass-Valve (BPV) gets its own hard-pipe from the cold side of the intercooler, maintaining the factory location and orientation. Maintaining this connection from the cold side ensures that cool air is fed back to the intake system when the valve is in bypass mode, preventing overheating of the air charge post turbo. The BPV is located using a unique COBB logo bridge that connects the BPV hard-pipe to the hot side hard-pipe. The COBB EVO X Hard-Pipe kit is one of the very few that will fit with the factory air box in place (or the optional COBB SF Intake) as well as the stock front engine cover.
The kit is completed with high quality COBB silicone hose couplings and heavy duty T-Bolt hose clamps to eliminate those embarrassing hose blow-offs than can occur when demanding the most from your EVO X.

Recently ordered these to pair with stock frame intake setup by INJEN, but the lower pipe sits too high to mount the intake properly. You can see in the photo how the intake is raised towards the relay cover due to rubbing on the pipe. Also didn’t come with a second coupler to mount BPV pipe to the intake, had to cut a piece from my stock tube to mount it properly. Overall looks good but really only works with stock or Cobb air box
These pipes are very well made and look great I like that they are one piece pipes top and bottom for smoother air flow.
Good quality stuff, excellent choice for those that are after a sleeper look.
Cobb always produces high quality pieces with attention to detail. I love this kit because it replaces all the rubber hoses with sturdy aluminum ones. Overall it took a couple of hours to install but I was not even trying to rush it. This kit is awesome because the top portion is one solid piece instead of the two annoying pieces. Out of the box you can tell COBB did not cut any corners when fabricating this kit you can see quality from any direction. The powder coat was spot on since it was perfect without any defects or scratches.
