If you are considering picking up this exhaust for your Ralliart, stop considering and just pull the trigger. It’s got a nice deep bubbling sound when at idle and very minimal drone at freeway speeds. It takes your car from a vacuum cleaner to something with some actual personality. Could not recommend this more. Installation is also very straight forward thanks to the included instructions.
The quality of this system is what I expected from Borla. Packaging is completely foam encased to prevent any issues during shipping. One observation is that it is advertised as 2 3/4" for inlet side, but in actuality it necks down at the flange to 2 1/2" to mate with stock cat system. In my case it was being paired to the 3" Cobb downpipe and AMS HFC, so this created some need for adaptation to get the fit up correct. One option I entertained was getting an exhaust fabricator to cut off the 2.5" flange and the 1/4" of necking down and weld up a 3" SS flange to mate up to rest of the 3" system. This would be the best option from a restriction point of view, but the most expensive option. Option two involved getting a SS flange adapter to go from 3" to 2 1/2". I chose this option. Torque Solutions makes one for Subaru (TQSTS-SU-479) that provides the correct adaptation. Pair that with a 3" and 2 1/2" flange gaskets doubled together on the Borla side and you have a leak free solution that won't blow out over time.
Great quality. Sound is a bit louder at highway speeds than I expected but is paired with a high flow cat. If you plan to use this with a high flow cat, I used the AMS one, the mating flange is smaller on the exhaust side and creates a small exhaust leak. Wish the flange was bigger. Ended up using two gaskets overlapped to solve the issue. I’m not sure how it fits with the stock cat
I’m really glad I bought this cat-back it really wakes up my ralliart and turns necks would recommend to anyone with a ralliart looking for a decent priced exhaust system.
