Toyota 86 Facts | 11 Fun Things About the FR-S/BRZ/GT86 You Probably Didn't Know
Sep 18, 2019Erik Blume
Most Toyota fans are aware of the fact that the BRZ / FR-S was developed as the successor to the AE86 in an attempt to honor Toyota's racing heritage. But I bet you didn't know that the Scion / Subaru / Toyota joint platform uses the same tires as the Toyota Prius. Bet you also didn't know that the roof of the GT86 was specifically designed so taller drivers could operate the vehicle while wearing a helmet. There are a ton of other things that are interesting about the car that can be seen in this YouTube video, so eloquently put together with a tongue-in-cheek attitude. I specifically like the over-use of "86" in every unimaginable location. Were there any specific Toyota 86 facts that you found surprising in this short video? Comment and let us know your reactions! As always, if you're looking for performance parts for your BRZ / FR-S, we have a whole bunch of awesome speed and aftermarket parts to chose from!

Fake exhaust note pumped in to the cabin? Gay
I love the BRZ the best, I had a AE86 and they were cool but ugly as shit. These are at least good looking.
I didn’t know about the extra space in the roof for taller guys with helmets.
