Must Have Power Mods | Ecoboost Mustang Bolt On Guide
The Ecoboost Mustang features a 2.3L Turbocharged engine. It only took a few months, but people have started modding the car and found a few items that bring the most power to the table, all at reasonable prices. We'll cover 5 bolt-on mods to make your Ford Ecoboost Mustang faster without breaking the bank and a few bonus Items...
1. Accessport from Cobb Tuning
COBB has unleashed the 2015 Ford Mustang Ecoboost Accessport, and you can get yours today! This V3 Accessport allows you to choose off the shelf tunes, allowing you to increase the Ecoboost Mustang horsepower and torque ratings. The Ecoboost V3 Accessport can also be used as a stand alone gauge and data logging interface, making this the best entry level Ecoboost Mustang mod!
Power gains have been phenomenal with the Mustang Ecoboost V3 Accessport. 91 octane Dyno runs have shown to increase 100ft-lb torque without bolt-ons. Those types of increases typically require turbocharger upgrades, but such is not the case with the Ecoboost Mustang!
2. Intercooler and Charge Piping Upgrade
All MAPerformance fabricated products are hand made in house by very skilled fabricators. We bend our own tubing, machine our own flanges, design jigs, weld, port, and R&D right here in the USA with locally sourced raw material. All fabricated products carry a lifetime guarantee against cracking/warping/failing. So buy with confidence, know that you are getting the best product on the market for your vehicle!
The MAP Ecoboost Mustang intercooler is a fabricated piece of art. We created this art by deciding to set ourselves apart from all the other intercoolers on the market and go with CNC billet machined end tanks. Not only does it allow us to achieve ultimate air flow by having smooth internal contouring, but we were also able to incorporate all the necessary sensor flanges, and mounting brackets into the one piece endtanks. No need to bend up a boxy end tank, and weld on cut to fit brackets and machined flanges. On top of it all, it just looks plain bad-ass! So, how does it perform? See for yourself!
3. Intake System
MAPerformance has recently taken to the domestic performance market with it's new line of Ecoboost Mustang Parts! A full line of performance Ford Mustang Ecoboost parts and accessories is coming soon, so keep an eye on the Ecoboost Mustang Parts Development Thread for release information and dyno testing!
Air Intakes do a few things for your vehicle. Not only do they replace the unattractive factory airbox system , but they also increases air flow to the turbocharger. This results in an increase in power and torque, throttle response, and engine noise upon acceleration - three things every Ecoboost Mustang owner loves!
A Ford Ecoboost Mustang Intake system by MAP will do all of the things mentioned above. Removal of your OEM Ford airbox opens up extra space in the engine bay for optional mods such as Intercooler Piping, and the larger high performance Air Filter allows for optimal filtration and long lasting life. Silicone couplers attach the intake piping to the throttle body via the included clamps making this a quick and easy ionstallation.
4. Downpipe
A lot of performance is lost in the factory Mustang Ecoboost downpipe. In a sense, it bottlenecks exhaust gasses and prevents them from exiting the engine, thus robbing power. Anaftermarket Ecoboost Mustang downpipe, whether catted or catless, will help improve exhaust flow from the turbocharger, increasing horsepower, turbocharger efficiency, and turbocharger life, especially under hard driving conditions. Paired with an aftermarket exhaust system, a performance Mustang Ecoboost Downpipe will net you some insane power and an aggressive exhaust sound under idle and WOT conditions.
5. Catback Exhaust
The mid-pipe starts off as 3" then splits to a dual y-pipe configuration. After the Y, you have the option to run dual resonators or a straight-pipe setup depending on your preferences. Out back, you'll have twin Vibrant mufflers with 3.5" slash-cut tips for ultimate sex appeal!
You're in love with your 2015 Ecoboost Mustang. It has all you need in an automobile - performance, styling, and economy. But there is one thing missing, and that's the aggressive exhaust tone most Mustangs are known for. What do you do?
You can start by installing the MAPerformance Ecoboost Mustang Catback exhaust. Made from the highest quality 304 stainless steel and expertly TIG welded here in the USA, it will last as long as you own the car! Designed as a direct bolt on replacement of the factory Ecoboost Mustang catback, installation is a breeze and often completed in less than two hours with tools available to most every backyard mechanic. The 2015 Ecoboost Mustang Catback also sounds great ... it keeps the low grumble associated with most 4 cylinder turbocharged engines, but gets very aggressive in the higher RPM's. With this exhaust, you'll turn heads and impress everyone around you!
Bonus - Turbo Kit / Auxiliary Fuel System
Long before the invention of the car, people would think of ways to go from point A to point B faster. The same holds true nearly 200 years later, and is now easier than ever with the adaptation of the turbocharger on modern automobiles. Sure, the 2015 Ecoboost Mustang is plenty quick from the factory, but you crave more. More power equals a more exhilarating driving experience. But often times, with more power comes less reliability, a fact most car enthusiasts entertain every time they upgrade their car.
In our quest for 500whp, we pushed the limits of the stock engine and Ecoboost Mustang turbocharger. We weren't able to hit the glorious 500whp mark with stock hardware, so we set out to develop an aftermarket Mustang Ecoboost turbo upgrade kit that will be capable of setting that mark. With a little extra work, theEcoboost Mustang Turbo Kit from MAPerformance will do that, providing everything you seek - More Power, More Reliability, all at a budget friendly price! Designed to get the most out of your 2.3L Ecoboost Mustang, this kit will add power and torque to the wheel for as long as you own the vehicle. So why not splurge a little and treat you and your new 2015 Ecoboost Mustang to an upgraded turbocharger kit today! (Custom tuning will be required)
Looking to add some serious power on your 2015+ Ecoboost Mustang? You're going to need more fuel, and with our help, it's never been easier!
Hopefully, you've already installed our Phase 1 or Phase 2 power packages, or maybe even our Ecoboost Upgraded Turbo Kit. If you've done so, now is the perfect time to add some more fuel as you'll be able to turn up the boost even more! If you've still got those items on your wishlist, fear not. You'll still benefit from anEcoboost Auxiliary Fuel system as much as anyone else!
In stock form, the Ecoboost Mustang uses a direct injection method for fuel delivery. This is a very advanced method of getting fuel to the engine, but can be limiting when it comes to adding more power by the means of an upgraded turbocharger. Increased air needs more fuel, and eventually the stock fuel system runs out of gas. An auxiliary fuel system is a great way of allowing the engine to burn more fuel. Not only that, you'll also keep your intake valves cleaner as the fuel entering the engine will help dissolve any carbon build up.
Check out some of these features below, and be sure to ask any questions about our Ecoboost Mustang Auxiliary Fuel System you have before purchasing!
