As with all MAPerformance products, our Evo X Firewall Heat Shield was designed to not only solve a problem but look good doing it. Made from 16ga 304 Stainless Steel, this Firewall Heat Shield will protect your car from all the heat produced by the turbo and manifold on the rear of these engines.
All too common we see damaged insulation, or melted ABS components that are not only expensive to fix, but dangerous when driving the car. We set out to make a heat shield that was easy to install and did not require the removal of any turbo components for nearly all popular setups. With simple hand tools, this can be installed quickly and headache-free.

I was becoming concerned with heat management at the track. I have a Borg Warner 7163 turbo with tubular manifold, and it is so close to the firewall components that I was anxious driving the car super hard for long durations. I installed the heat shield in like 10 minutes and applied DEI gold tape. no more worries.
This this is heavy duty! It's made of thick stainless steel and wraps aroun the turbo and downpipe to protect the abs pump and hoses. Much better then the tin foil factory one that wouldn't stop the heat from a candle. MAP should look into making one to replace the one that sits over the manifold. The cast manifold already has the provisions to mount one so why not?!
It was very easy to put together, looks great, and fits great. highly recommend. I bought it along with the tubular manifold. very happy with it.
very very very easy to install, look great, and protect from the heat a large area in the engine bay (ABS unit and brake lines) - very usefull with a tubular exhaust manifold !
