FRS/BRZ Oil Cooler Kit

The BRZ/FRS oil cooler kit by MAPerformance will dramatically reduce engine oil temperatures which will extend the life of your oil and delay oil oxidation and thermal breakdown that can lead to premature engine failure. It also features a thermostatic sandwich plate with built in 185 degree thermostat that accurately controls oil flow to the cooler allowing for quick engine warm up plus oil system protection in cold climates.

Featuring a high quality Mocal cooler and an innovative thermostatic oil filter sandwich, this BRZ/FRS Oil Cooler mounts to your car via included mounting hardware. Convenient attaching points on the reinforced plastic undertray help keep things tidy, and the -10an braided nylon hoses and fittings allow for a smooth, hassle free installation. This FRS/BRZ Oil Cooler kit is compatible with the MAPerformance turbo kit, and is the best solution to combat increases in oil temps.

NOTE: Does not fit factory airbox. Does fit Grimmspeed V2 intake.

Great at keeping lower temps

Noticeable difference in temps now (190 to 200 degrees) and it really does work as inteded. The install was very simple. Would recommend this product. 👍

Excellent Cooler, Check for Airbox Clearance

Cooler functions as you’d expect it to and maintains temps under 195-200 in 90 degree heat with no trouble; <190 when cruising.

Distributor plate did not allow for fit with the factory airbox, installing a Grimmspeed air intake had no issues. Hose fittings interfered with airbox.

Thin wall socket needed for oil filter stud tightening, got by with a normal socket but it’s not perfect. 27mm.

Very good oil cooler.

Super easy to install, keep oil temps below 200*. Wasn’t missing any parts, I would recommend this Cooler kit to any friend..

Good kit, could use some improvements.

The kit over all is a great value, nice fit and finish! No major complaints.
But, please just charge $5-10 more and include the thin wall socket needed to tighten down the oil filter fitting. Also, the install video needs to be updated to include the torque values and the correct oil capacity.

Easy Install! Tighten the lines though.

My wife and I just put the 19 row oil cooler on my 2016 BRZ. The install video made it super easy. The hardest part was removing and reinstalling the bumper (stupid body clips). I do not have an oil temp gauge so I can't tell you oil temps. I got it because I know the triplets have a heat problem. Same reason why I'm getting a vented hood.

One thing to make sure of. This is a high pressure system. MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS AS TIGHT AS YOU CAN GET IT!!!! I didn't tighten everything down enough because I was worried about messing up the threads (previous experience on a WRX) and I blew about 2 quarts of oil over my garage floor in about 0.2 seconds. It was completely my fault but it added 1 hour to the install because of cleanup and retightening.

Overall, 5/10 for difficulty of install because of the bumper, 11/10 mess when you blow oil all over your garage and 10/10 for a great look and quality product.
